clearcase vob creation problem on NAS storage device
Hi.
i am not an expertized on clearcase, but having working knowledge ,
i am setting clearcase community on windows for the first time from scratch with following requirements:
Vobs/Views Storage: NAS device
clearcase server o/s: perntium window 2003 server with service pack 1
clearcase s/w Ver: Clearcase 7.0
To complete this requirement.
The NAS device is configured and mapped to the clearcase server.
we had created the following domain, accounts before setting up clearcase.
Domain: xxxxx
primary group : xxxxx\Domain Users
Albd service account : xxxxx\clrcase_albd_svraid
clearcase administrators group : xxxxx\clearcase_users_serveraid
THERE IS ONLY ONE LICENSED USER AND HAD BEEN ADDED TO THE DOMAIN AND clearcaser_users_serveraid group.
clearcase version 7.0 for windows is installed on pentium hardware on windows 2003 server with service pack 1
As a licensed user , logged on to the server and created the VOB/View storage location on the NAS Device.
when i try to create a vob on the created NAS STORAGE LOCATION, I am gettting the following error,
Failed to to record hostname "Ccsvribm" in storage directory
"\\10.100.220.153\clearcase\vobstore\dumy.vbs.
check that root or the clearcase administrators group has permission to write to this
directory.
vob creation Wizard: error:unable to create versioned object base
"10.100.220.153\clearcase\cobstoe\dumy,vbs.
parallel to the above, i had created vob storage location on the clearcase Server itself as Ccsvribm\vobs in E drive as shared.
i am able to create a public vob in the shared storage location "Ccsvribm\vobs"
once this problem is resolved then i can simply create vobs and perform clearfsimport utility to dumb the existing vobs located in private ftp to my clearcase community.
NOTE: ON THE CLEARCASE SERVER i ran CC Doctor, i had identified the following as
Problem:
"The user name is a member fo the clearcase group. in most cases , this group is reserved for luse by clearcase administrators and service processes"
Please help me in solving the problem.
your quick response is highly appreciated!
Thanks & Regards
Raasi.
