Unable to Access Intraet from LAN

Hi,

I have setup Sharepoint on Server 2003 Web Edition. I created an intranet website, setup IP Configuration. But I am unable to preview the website using a browser with http prefix. I can start the index.html page and see the the website is indeed intact. Just unable to browse it from another workstation. I am even unable to browse on ie using the http://.

Sadly, the online help file on the Web Edition is sparse at best, as it pertains to providing a clear instruction on how to setup an intranet.

I wonder if anyone might help in this regard, by suggesting, or posting a link to a clearly defined how to guidelines that will allow me to finally deploy the intranet on the network, as well as access it from behind the firewall by using Windows Server 2003 user authentication methods.

What browser error are you getting?
What are you using for DNS on your internal network?
What happens when you ping <servername><domainname>.com?
Have you tried browsing to http://<private ip>?

If the latter works you have a DNS issue.
