    Sharepoint and emails

    Hello,

Can anyone please let me know if they have successfully managed to get Sharepoint to receive an email, read the contents and place it in the shared calendar as a task?
We have a Client who would like to send an email to the Sharepoint server, use a web part to convert the contents into a suitable format and display it in the shared calendar.
As I am fairly new to Sharepoint I dont know if what they are doing is able to be done.
Are they trying to do the undo-able?
Their main question is "Can Sharepoint access and read an email?"
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

SharePoint does not have an email interface. It will interface with Exchange server, but only in a limited manner. (You can link a document library with a public folder. Attachments to messages in the public folder are imported into the library.)

What you are trying to accomplish would require custom programming.
