The Configuration Item Taxonomy (also known as the Taxonomy of Configuration Item Types), represents a correlating inventory of the different Configuration Item Types that are tracked and managed by global enterprises in their Configuration Management Systems and/or Configuration Management Databases (CMDBs).
The above Taxonomies can be used to assist IT Professionals and their enterprises in the design and implementation of enterprise Configuration Management Solutions.
