    Configuration Management Taxonomies

    Good Day,

The International Foundation for Information Technology (IF4IT) would like to introduce the community to its Configuration Management Taxonomies.
The above Taxonomies can be used to assist IT Professionals and their enterprises in the design and implementation of enterprise Configuration Management Solutions.

In addition to the above, please feel free to visit the Foundation's:
    • IT Glossary, used to help enterprises standardize on terminology and meanings. The Foundation's glossary is the largest and most comprehensive IT Glossary in the world.
    • Master Inventory of IT Disciplines, used to help identify the many different things IT Professionals do and IT Organizations must account for.
    • IT Learning Framework, used to help put context and understanding around how pieces of IT fit together.
    • Inventory of IT Taxonomies, used to help identify key IT Industry classifications that are used by IT Professionals to help standardize representations and communications, throughout their enterprises.
    • IT Deployment Framework, used to help IT Professionals understand the key and highly repeatable functions that are performed within Operating Environments, as part of SDLC based IT Delivery.

The IF4IT's goal is to openly publish solutions that can be used to assist IT Professionals and their enterprises with continuous improvement, through the use of tools such as IT Standards, Best Practices, Guidelines and Definitions. As always, we'd like to remind everyone that our content is open, subject to the terms and conditions of our Master Agreement which, in short, prohibits profiting from the Foundation's material without formally written and explicit consent.

We hope you find the material useful and we are always looking for your content contributions, feedback and criticism.

We thank you for your continued support.

    My Best,

    Frank Guerino

    Hello All,

I wanted to inform the group that the Taxonomy of Configuration Items has been updated to include many new Configuration Item Types.

Also, our Taxonomy of Configuration Management Types can be used to help identify and understand the many different Types of Configuration Management that frameworks such as ITIL may not cover but which may still be critical to your enterprise.

I hope you find the information useful.

    My Best,

    Frank Guerino
