As someone who has just become an examiner for the Manager's exam, I would agree with the points made (especially the one about answering the question!). I would add - take note of the number of marks per question, and answer accordingly. You have about 1.5 minutes per point, so for 5 points, you should be writing for about 7 1/2 minutes. Even in a "20 mark for the whole question ", if you read the question carefully, you will see that it is in different segments for example " Compare main benefits of x and y, and the difficulties in implementing each" is fairly clearly 4 times 5 marks!.
Also (and the examiner's feel strongly about this) it is a Manager's exam - so you should be talking as a manager, seeing the bigger picture, understanding costs etc.
If it says write a letter, draft a report, etc there are a couple of marks just for the format - so - the titleof the report, author (not a real name), Management summary, ScopeFindings, Recommendations.
Finally if it refers to the case study, your marks will be capped if you don't refer properly to it - not just saying " xxx Company would benefit from Configuration Management because...followed by a generic answer." Show specifically how the issues identified with the systems in the case study would benefit.
