I'm looking to implement an intranet for my company - 6 offices, 1000 employees globally. We all use different servers, networks and potentially even different browsers. Ideally I want to host the intranet internally, however the cost of this is disproportionate to the cost of external hosting (extra staff, extra resource time etc.)
My concern is that an intranet hosted externally is less secure than an internally hosted intranet - is that true? If so, any suggestions on how to cut costs with internal hosting?
Thanks
