Question about CMS tutorial

I used to use php to build my own cms years ago, but I have not done this in quite some time because I have now been using other open source applications.

I have a project coming up that requires some custom cms capabilities that I wll need to build on my own...

So, my question is:

Is the code that is used in the Internet Journal CMS tutorial still valid? The date on the tutorial is 2004, so I am just trying to ensure that the code is secure and still useful today...

Thanks!

Hi there,

I'm no PHP expert, but I used the code this year for a (simple) CMS project. There are a few things to be aware of.

Also, you can see the CMS in action at my site. I haven't changed the PHP classes except as noted in above link.

Also, sometime soon I'm going to post my code as a downloadable CMS. Would love some peer review and help!

The code seems to be still very valid with the exception of the points made by krisahil in the post before mine in his blog. Other than that it works fine for me. I've had some hiccups along the way but mostly due to my own errors when typing the code. But works great once I debugged those. I'm doing the final parts now so hopefully all will go well!
