Creating a PHP-Based Content Management System, Part 6

Hello,

As I'm winding my way to the end of this series, which has been very helpful, I came across a reference to a fully functional CMS to use as a guide. The reference is to http://www.ottercms.com.

The problem is I'm not sure where on this site I should be looking or even what to look for. Does anybody know what Peter Zeidman was referring to.

Having this full blown CMS as a guide would be extremely helpful.

Thank you,

-Hank

Download link: http://sourceforge.net/project/downl...se_mirror=mesh

Original post:

It appears that ottercms.com no longer exists. The current site is one of those "bought by advertisement company"-sites.

I tried googling for it (the cms, not the site), as I was interested in this my self, but couldn't find anything.

Using the Wayback Machine (internet archive), I got this: http://web.archive.org/web/200802111...cms.com/pages/, from Feb 11, 2008. So it's not more than 13 months since it went down (at highest), so I'm certain that the CMS is still available on the internet somewhere.

Edit:

I found a broken download link on a russian site: http://stroimsayt.com/index.php?opti...ileinfo&id=114

I'll continue my google search, and return if I find something that's actually usefull.

Edit2:

Wasn't that difficult really:
http://webscripts.softpedia.com/scri...oad-37637.html

If that for some reason appears to be broken, try http://sourceforge.net/project/downl...se_mirror=mesh

If that too, is broken, download from here (my own webserver, so might be gone when someone finds this post in the future): http://ricecows.net/ottercms/.

Have a good day Sir.

This project is dead and wonder if there is any interest to re-open or continue the project.

I have been advised It's not compatable with PHP5 I'm using PHP Version 4.4.8. and tested fine.

I'm partically interested in how far OtterCMS tags have been developed.

In the design of template pages these tags can be useful.
My first question is what tags could be added and built.

My second question has anyone added their own plugins

I think that this project should be saved and updated.

Thanks

Dean

Hi Everyone

Ive just looked at this and it indeed errors in PHP5 under my windows box.

As i am someone who doesnt like seeing scripts with potential to be decent going to waste i was also wondering if there is any people wanting to save this cms ? if so i am starting up a development website and forums located at http://www.liquid-network.net/community/index.php i am also working on scripts aswell as the new version of the free hosting control panel The ZPanel which i saved from dying a year ago.

If theres any intrest in this being saved and dev's wanting to work on it under my dev server please feel free to signup and contact me.
