IT On Call Allowances

We are looking to introduce some out of hours support (1st-3rd line) for weekend periods.

We will be on call between 7am and 10pm Saturday and Sunday.

What do you all think is a reasonable market rate for us to do this work?

My friend has 2nd jod; he does it when get called.

He sets up his rate, but his total charge is based upon what he can give his customer; not the result by multiplying his rate by the number of hours he is on the task.

His logic: He does not want his mechanics charges him by the number of hours.

You need to survey your market area to determine the rate structure for your locality.
I always charged a fixed fee for being on call plus another door-to-door rate if I was actually called out.
As always, your local marketplace will determine how much you can charge for your services.
