Red face New Team Schedule for our Helpdesk Team

Hi,

I am currently working on a new work schedule for my staff onsite. I am looking for a effective schedule details listed below:

Support Coverage : 24 by 7
Total Headcount: 6 Helpdesk only
Working hours of staff per day: 10 hours; 1 hour break included on the WH

Critical Shift (needs 3 Man staff): 8:00 PM - 4:00 AM; Mon to Fri.
Mid Critical Shift (needs 2 staff): 12:00 pm to 7:00 PM; M-F
Off-Peak ( 1 or 2 staff): Sat & Sun

Restday of staff: Can be flexible but not split-off

I am looking forward on your assistance. If you can send it as table type

Thanks,

In the USA the solution requires overtime.

What is missing is the total workweek per person and the work/rest limitations for your location, if any.

If you don't need full coverage during the 1 hour break and each person works a 50 hour week, it can be done by a 6 person staff with interchangeable skill sets.
In the past I've allowed each person to state their preference for work hours each week with any conflicts settled by management.

My assumptions are:

300 = Available man hours (6 * 50)
283 = Required man hours
120 = Critical hours (3 * 8 hrs. M-F)
70 = Mid-critical hours (2 * 7 hrs. M-F)
45 = Off-peak hours (1 * 9 hrs. M-F)
48 = Off-peak hours (1 * 24 hrs. S-S)
Because 10 hour work shifts are not a multiple of a day, divide the day into 2 hour blocks to assign staff. There are enough available hours to provide some overlap and help desk meeting time.

Smile Thanks for your response

Hi Sir,

Yes your right staff should have 50 hours a week. Do you mind if you can draft a table type of schedule.

Details again:

3 staff - 8pm to 4am/5am Mon-Fri & 12am-4am Sat; overlap 1-3 hrs is fine
2 staff - 12pm to 8pm Mon-Fri;
1-2 staff - Sat & Sun

Staff working hours
9 hours
1 hr break

That term is used on most forums.
We've already used that method to communicate.
