Cell Phone Spam

It's an easy fix:

1. List your cell phone number in the Federal DO NOT CALL List.

2. If SPAM comes in, write all the details down.

3. Report it to the FED's

4. Sue their AXX'S OFF.

They will very quickly get the message and stop.

It actually does very little. I joined the do not call list almost 10 years ago when it first came out, and have renewed it twice since. I still got plenty of telemarketing calls on my landline, and I reported each and everyone. I still repeatedly got calls from the same company. I finally ditched my landline for VO IP.

IIRC It is currently illegal for advertisers to make unsolicited calls to cell phone numbers since the receiving party pays for the call.

Most, if not all, cellular service providers do not list numbers in a directory.

is that the same as sending text message ads? That's annoying if the person has pay as you go charge plan. It means the recipient is paying for unwanted ads.
